Jobarteh Kunda wants to make music that contributes to the understanding of the peoples and this has been achieved by this extraordinary formation with certainty. The name of this band is program: Kunda (Clan), a family of 5 musicians, practically from five different musical “families”. One of them is the bandleader Tormenta Jobarteh from the wide family network of the internationally appreciated Griot family Jobarteh. A musical journey of African and Caribbean music that moves the heart and legs. Storytelling, Afrobeat, Jazz, Reggae, Latin …a carpet of sound that touches the soul. The lyrics full of wisdom and humour invite to an inner journey between dream and reality.
