Honary Award by Schwabinger Kunstpreise 1997

Rita Rottenwallner receives the Honary Award by Schwabinger Kunstpreise 1997 due to her great achievements for Schwabing’s culture.

The jury described Rita Rottenwallner as a pioneer and cultural enterpreneur who was never afraid to take risks and thus contributing to Munich’s cultural scene in a unique fashion. Her organisational talent and openness to new forms of theatre and Nouveau Cirque made Tollwood to one of the most important cultural festivals in Europe. And this is also very important for Munich as a city even thoutgh the festival is realised without any public subsidies.
