Green Operations Award | 2016
For social and ecological activities
On 13th January 2016, Tollwood received the Green Operations Award for its social and ecological commitment at the Eurosonic-Festival in Groningen (Netherlands). The jury remarked in the laudation: “The one festival the jury chose as this year’s winner stands for an overall outstanding approach on sustainability – economically, environmentally and socially. The festival’s green performance is exceptional and still they improve it year by year. What I personally would like to stress at this very moment are their great efforts on social aspects that reach out far beyond the festival area (…) This immensely adds to something I hope our whole festival scene stands for: Bringing people together, making this world a better and safer place, Sharing & Caring, and peace…!”

Every year since 2013, the Green Operations Award is given out by Yourope (The European Festival Association) and the GO-group (Green Operations Europe) at Eurosonic-Festival. The prize is awarded to festivals that made a significant contribution to the development and implementation of sustainable goals in the event sector by an expert jury.
