Bavarian State Medal | 2008
For services to the environment and health
On 25th July 2008, Tollwood received the Bavarian State Medal for services to the environment and health. As Tollwood’s Head of the Environmental Department, Stephanie Weigel accepted the Bavarian State Medal for Services to the Environment and Health by Bavarian State Minister of Environment Dr. Otmar Bernhard.
In the laudation he remarked: “(…) since 1988 the festivals are a platform for ecology and environmental conscience (…). One of the highlights was the new tent “Weltsalon” in winter 2007, where important eco-political topics such as globalization, environmental pollution and innovations are presented comprehensively to the audience.”

And: “Since winter 2003, the whole gastronomy has been certified in accordance with the EU organic council regulation. Besides the effort to offer organic food and drinks, the project “Bio für Kinder” is one of their most successful activities (…).”
