The motto of the Tollwood Summer Festival 2019

Easily Enough!

“Reicht leicht!” The slogan for Tollwood Summer Festival means “Easily enough!”, and describes the motto of this years’ festival.
“Earth Overshoot Day” falls as early as 2 May this year in Germany: that’s the day when the whole year’s worth of human living resources are actually used up. That clearly shows that we’re living beyond our means. We would have “easily enough” if we were to consume less, and if we met our needs more sensibly, ecologically and fairly; this is an approach that Tollwood promotes – and that we know is both simple and challenging.

The principle can be seen in action in various locations at Tollwood, including thought-provoking artwork such as “The Loop”, made from 200 shopping trolleys, sited at the entrance to the festival, and the Konsumtempel (temple of consumption). The event will also host a Tiny House to explore. “Swap lockers” will be installed on the festival grounds, where visitors can leave toys, books and clothing – and find new treasures to take away with them.
